The house of Dior has recently unveiled a new exhibit so aptly named ‘Le Petit Théâtre Dior’ in Chendgu, China in which this glorious installation features sixty miniature haute couture dresses from the entire archive, my favourite piece being this - the ‘Miss Dior’ gown from the Spring/Summer 1941 collection. Adorned with flowers such as roses, jasmine, and lilac these tiny blooms are hand made by the immaculate artisans who work meticulously in the ateliers with unmatched dedication and a delicate touch all to create something magical, and even though this piece is miniature the beauty that it radiates is of grand proportions. Whilst most of the petite pieces are in groups, this flowerful look plays a big part in the installation; mechanical blossoms of pink shades rise from the ground in front of a giant flower whose petals open to reveal the dainty dress in all it’s glory, surely enchanting anyone who is lucky enough to see. pictures via.

And I’ve had it up to my neck with this bullshit. Not all men do this, wake the fuck up and stop being angry. If I wrote about how women treated me I’d probably make a lot of you question yourselves. So save that bullshit for someone who cares.

" BUT NOT ALL MEN!!!!!!!!!!! “

lets not include lily allen in this photoset

"wake the fuck up and stop being angry"

O_O

Well, that’s a new one.

shamelesshistory really is shameless

It was a Muslim who realized that light ENTERS our eyes, unlike the Greeks who thought we EMITTED rays, and so invented a camera from this discovery.
It was a Muslim who first tried to FLY in 852, even though it is the Wright Brothers who have taken the credit.*
It was a Muslim by the name of Jabir ibn Hayyan who was known as the founder of modern Chemistry. He transformed alchemy into chemistry. He invented: distillation, purification, oxidation, evaporation, and filtration. He also discovered sulfuric and nitric acid.
It is a Muslim, by the name of Al-Jazari who is known as the father of robotics.
It was a Muslim who was the architect for Henry V’s castle.
It was a Muslim who invented hollow needles to suck cataracts from eyes, a technique still used today.
It was a Muslim who actually discovered inoculation, not Jenner and Pasteur to treat cowpox. The West just brought it over from Turkey
It was Muslims who contributed much to mathematics like Algebra and Trigonometry, which was imported over to Europe 300 years later to Fibonnaci and the rest.
It was Muslims who discovered that the Earth was round 500 years before Galileo did.*
The list goes on………..
Just imagine a world without Muslims. Now I think you probably meant, JUST IMAGINE A WORLD WITHOUT TERRORISTS. And then I would agree, the world would definitely be a better place without those pieces of filth. But to hold a whole group responsible for the actions of a few is ignorant and racist. No one would ever expect Christians or White people to be held responsible for the acts of Timothy McVeigh (Oklahoma bombing) or Andreas Brevik (Norway killing), or the gun man that shot Congresswoman Giffords in head, wounded 12 and killed 6 people, and rightly so because they had nothing to do with those incidents! Just like the rest of the 1.5 billion Muslims have nothing to do with this incident!

BURN :)

 Forever reblog.

Okay, so I would totally probably reblog this anyways, but like two of the facts are wrong and it’s really bugging me:
Flight: The Wright Brothers are not considered the first to try to fly. People have been trying to fly since before we have reliable records, and the story referenced here seems to be a better-documented Icarus-and-Daedulus-type story. That said, Abbas Ibn Firnas was kinda a Da Vinci in terms of inventions, and so this story is, you know, actually plausible.
But the Wright Brothers weren’t significant for trying to fly. What the Wright Brothers did was shove the relatively-recently-invented engine into the gliders that the likes of Abbas Ibn Firnas had been making for years, and realizing that the only thing they needed to do was modify it to get lift from forward motion.
The Earth Being Round: NONONONONONONO! EVERYONE KNEW THE EARTH WAS ROUND. EVERYONE.
LIKE, THE GREEKS HAD ALREADY DETERMINED THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE EARTH TO LIKE WITHIN A FEW PERCENTAGE MARKS.
IN THE TALMUD, THERE ARE DISCUSSIONS ABOUT WHEN YOU WOULD CUT OFF ONE DAY FROM THE NEXT IF THERE WAS LAND CONTINUOUSLY AROUND THE EARTH. (Yes, that means the Rabbis invented the International Date Line.) (I don’t know Muslim sources, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they also came upon it independently.)
THERE HAVE BEEN ASTROLABES IN ISLAM SINCE WITHIN A HUNDRED YEARS OF IT’S EXISTENCE, AND I REALLY FREAKING DOUBT THAT THEY’D BE ABLE TO FIND THE DIRECTION TO MECCA FROM ANY POINT ON EARTH IF THEY DIDN’T ALREADY KNOW THE EARTH WAS FREAKING ROUND.
EVERYONE. KNEW. THE EARTH. WAS ROUND.
